Doug Margerm
Director at Large

Keren Freed
Director at Large
After retiring as Treasurer of a large Canadian mining company some time ago, I joined ElderCollege at Cap College and subsequently became Chair of the Finance Committee. Some things have changed at ElderCollege since then but I still find the friendly, stimulating atmosphere for learning and making new friends most enjoyable.

I was born and raised in Winnipeg and I left as soon as I graduated from university with an English and math degree. Before I moved to Vancouver I lived in the Kootenays where I worked mainly as a youth support worker. I retired in 2012 from teaching in Vancouver. I now live in North Vancouver and thought there was nothing...until I discovered ElderCollege and the What's News class.  Now I am "hooked".
